British Bloggers Update

It’s been a good weekend. Went to a good social gathering on Saturday in Southwark and met up with some friends I’ve not seen in ages. Due to the proximity of Waterloo Station, my journey home was quick and uneventful (for a change), and I somehow managed to get about 4 hours of work done when I got home….

I was supposed to be going to the Great British Beer Festival on Sunday, but I had an argument with my hangover and lost. That was a shame, so instead I designed and released my first line of highly-fashionable clothing. It’s great value and looks good, so you should go and buy something ;-)

Last night I deployed the work I had been doing on BritBlog, and it seems to be working. Phew.

Time for more tea.

Drunk in the morning

How can I feel more drunk now (8:57 AM) than I did last night when I went to bed (at 5.00 AM)?

Good beer

Well I’m getting ready for the beerfest tomorrow…. I’ve had Badger’s Tanglefoot, Greene King’s Old Speckled Hen, and am now on Theakston’s Old Peculier. They probably all taste better than what I can expect tomorrow, but that’s not the point. So what is the point? Dammed if I know.

River Scams the Scammer

River Scams the Scammer Hehhe, this is good for a laugh! Fit chick too ;-)

10 Random MP3s

Hmm, ok, so I saw this on someone else’s blog so I thought I would give you all a laugh. For those that don’t know what I’m doing, I put my MP3 player on random and write down the first 10 tunes it plays (giving it access to my full archive…)

  1. Knowing When To Leave - Burt Bacharach
  2. Would You Believe - Claire Martin
  3. You’re My Everything - Various Artists (sounds like Miles Davis to me…)
  4. I Love Paris - Bing Crosby (ahem, this is getting embarrassing now. ..)
  5. Mais Feliz (Monoaural remix) - Bebel Gilberto
  6. Keep It Real - Courtney Pine
  7. Everybody Loves The Sunshine - Roy Ayers (phew, getting better!)
  8. Night and Day - Ella Fitzgerald
  9. It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing - Dianne Schurr
  10. Sad Fool - Johnny “Guitar” Watson
  11. Half Step Down, Please - Dizzy Gillespie
  12. Me and Mrs. Jones - Tony Monaco
  13. My Way - Frank Sinatra
  14. Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate The Positive - Bing Crosby (more from Bing? I’ve only got two albums!)
  15. Heartbeat - Buddy Holly
  16. Big Spender - Shirley Bassey
  17. Lovely Michelle - Special Efx
  18. Rush - Tony Coe/Tony Hymas
  19. You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feelin’ - The Righteous Brothers
  20. Manteca - Dizzy Gillespie

OK, so I tried to redeem myself by doing 20 tunes instead of 10, but I can see I’ve failed dismally. I’d just like to remind you that I’ve got 3369 tracks in my music library, and shed loads of albums I’ve not ripped. I don’t think this list is representative of my excellent taste in music. I’ll do it again one day when my computer isn’t so hot. Maybe it’s suffering from heat-stroke…

Take a look at this mp3 database ;-)

WordPress PostgreSQL Port

While this blogger blogging thing seems OK, I think I would prefer to use WordPress on my own site. The only problem is that I use PostgreSQL instead of MySQL, and this could be a problem…

(And I can’t do the FTP publishing via blogger as my webhost doesn’t allow FTP.)

Now do I try and port WordPress to PostgreSQL myself, or do I try and get MySQL installed?

Ah ha! It seems there has been some motion by others in this direction… Now my ISP is playing up and I can’t read page 2, so I’ll come back to this later.

Tweaked the template

Well I’ve tweaked my template, so I can sleep easy tonight. I think the bottle of OSH may help too…. Night night :-)

My first post!

Welcome to Marky Moo’s Blog. I’m not sure what I’ll blog about, but seeing as my aged borther is blogging, I feel like should jump on the band waggon too.

Oh yes, and what’s the point of creating a wonderful bloggers directory if I’m not even a memeber of it?
