Sony Ericsson K700i
Why am I still working on a Saturday? Not good. Still, things should ease off in about five weeks. Hopefully.
Orange have been mucking around on my ‘phone upgrade, but I finally got ’round to ordering a new one. Some of you may remember that I upgraded to the Orange SPV C500 a few weeks ago. The one they sent me was broken (there’s a surprise - don’t touch a smartphone with a barge pole), so I sent it back for a replacement. I waited for two weeks for the handset to come in the post but it didn’t turn up. So I called, and guess what they said?
“Sorry Sir, the courier company tried to deliver it three times last week, but no one was home.”
That’s strange I thought, as I work from home most days… Anyway, they said they would try again on Monday so I thought, OK, I’ll give them another chance.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the handset never turned up, and another call to Orange later I found out that the handset upgrade had been cancelled several weeks ago. Bunch of cretins.
Anyway, I’ve been too busy to really investigate an alternative handset, but my existing “smartphone” (term used loosely) is just so broken these days that I’ve had to make some time.
So I’ve gone for a Sony Ericsson K700i. I wonder what will go wrong with this one?
On the plus side, they wanted to charge me £49.99 to upgrade, which is bloody stupid as I’ve been paying them a small fortune every month, and the last phone that I got off them (the “smartphone” - which I had to pay for, I might add) was a pile of crap and was broken from day #1! So after I explained this, an almost helpful lady called Dawn in the customer relateions department was able to take forty quid off the price.
Are there any good ‘phone companies out there?? Why do we put up being treated so badly?
