BritBlog goings on

There is some activity over at BritBlog that I think I ought to mention.

First of all, I’m looking for some beta testers for our new XML-RPC updates service. This should make a huge difference to BritBlog (especially if the traffic kills the server!), and I’m quite excited about this.

Additionally, there has been some talk about setting up a traffic exchange-like system. I’m still not sure what the best approach would be, so if you have any thoughts please mention them over at the BritBlog blog.

    Hi Mark,

Maybe you could tell me why BritBlog don’t seem to want to publish my blog? I applied over a week ago, and have no response. I have checked the submission policies and doesn’t contravene anything. The only thing I can think of is the reviewer, be it yourself or someone else disagrees with the political content. If this is the case then that is just lame.

Yes I swear on my blog. This is the internet, and it’s not illegal. My opinions are on the site. Do we have some lefty liberal at the helm that seeks to suppress free speech?!

If there is another reason why, I’d love to hear it!

Jonz, if you’ve not had a rejection email then your blog is still waiting to be reviewed. We have several hundred blogs waiting to be reviewed and this process has to be done around people’s working lives.

The reason we review blogs is to remove non-British blogs, porn sites, SEO spam sites, commercial sites that aren’t blogs and that sort of rubbish. We have no interest in suppressing free speech or anything like that - so long as your site doesn’t incite racial hatred or glorify terroism that is…!
