Snake bursts after gobbling gator

This isn’t something you read about every day! Snake bursts after gobbling gator @ BBC.

LinuxWorld

I’m off to LinuxWorld tomorrow. I’ve not been for a few years, so it should be interesting to see how it’s changed.

Went up to Peterborough today - left the house at 7.00 AM! I think I chose the wrong route there, driving through London to get to the A1. All in all it took three hours to get there! Didn’t leave the meeting until about 1:30 PM, so came back via Cambridge for a (late) spot of lunch with my old house mate. Finally got back to sunney Surrey at 6.00 PM :)

Feel zonked now. Time for bed!

My first ebay listing!

Woo! I’m very excited - I’ve finally got something up for sale on ebay!

It’s not actually an interesting thing - just some canon ink cartridges, but I feel a bit behind the times having never sold anything on ebay before. Hell, even the sales people in my company are doing it!

I’ve told my father I will help him sell vine cuttings on ebay soon, so this is a sort of dry run. Anyone want to buy some vine cuttings?!

You rock!

You rock!

Probably old, but made me laugh :-D

Blog reviews at BritBlog

We’ve just added a blog review section over at BritBlog. The plan here is to highlight blogs that deserve more exposure…

Ipod Nano

I really think I have to get one of these ipod nanos - they look excellent!

However, as I’m so skint I need your help. Click on the amazon link below and buy yourself a nano. If enough of you do that, I’ll be able to afford one myself!

Happy shopping!

Technorati API

I’ve been playing around with the Technorati API today. Got an interesting addition to add to BritBlog soon… I’m basically using Technorati to tell me the RSS and Atom feed URLs. This is then stored in the database and will be published on the the member blog profiles.

Once I’ve got this data, I can use the feed URLs to keep an eye on member blogs, and hopefully publish recent member posts. This will tie in to the XML-RPC ping update service. Anyway, more info will be published about this when it’s up and live.

On the topic of the ping service, it’s all nearly done! I’ve been working out how to optimise it for performance, and there doesn’t seem to be any really clear way to do this. As I think I’ve mentioned before, it’s easy to set up a ping service, but getting it to stand up to the spammers is another question!

Some photos at last

I’ve finally managed to get some photos processed (coverted from RAW to jpeg, that is), so here, for your viewing pleasure, they are:

I’ve still got the photos from Ed & Sophie’s wedding, and Philip & Katies to do, so keep an eye on my flickr photo stream.
