I have the same problem with my Quest. Can't get the tracks of the quest through the USB port of my Lenovo T60 Thinkpad. HOWEVER, I CAN get them to my Dell Dimension 2350.

Any clues?

I agree - USB drivers simply don't work - no real advice from Garmin Website - I paid more for a USB cable - seems I should have saved my money and bought a serial port connector - but can I be sure that will work??

Maybe I'll just sell the unit on ebay and return to OS maps - so far a complete waste of time.

I think that the serial cable is the way to go I'm afraid. Bit of a pain as it's more cash, but it looks like you're scuppered if you don't use it :-(

I got it working in the end using a serial cable... Seems a bit strange, but I can now get my tracks & waypoints on and off the GPS.

I have the same problem with my Geko 201 and the USB lead on XP. It cannot find the Gamin drivers. A waste of time buying a Geko to use with a PC.

I had the same problem. I downloaded the USB drivers to used with my Streetpilot 2720, but when I rean the executable to unzip the drivers it ran the Microsoft Cleartype applet instead, leaving me without USB drivers to update my softward on the GPS unit. Unfortunately, I have misplaced my CD of software so cannot see if that works better, but then why would it?

If anyone has suggestions I am anxious to hear more ideas.

Well I wouldn't say I've got it sussed, but I;ve just got home and plugged the GPS into my Windows 2000 Pro computer, and all works fine. Don't know what the issue is with Win XP Pro and USB, but I don't care at the moment. WHat this means is I should be able to geo-tag my photos with ease. Yay!
