Technoranki Update

I’ve been getting a few emails about technoranki lately, so I thought I’d give you a ‘current status’ post.

So what is technoranki? Technoranki is a blog ranking system. However it tries to be slightly different to the rest, taking a slightly more scientific approach to ranking blogs. It gathers information about blogs from a wide range of sources (including traffic data where available) and munges it all together to come up with a score. These scores are then ordered and ranked, 10 being a high rank, and 1 being a low rank.

You’ve probably noticed that technornaki doesn’t seem to have been updated for a long time. Well this isn’t quite true - I’ve been doing work on the back-end which unfortunately isn’t really apparent to the casual visitor. It’s been hard as I have to balance time between my day job, BritBlog, technoranki, and of course life, but we’re slowly getting there.

What’s next for technoranki? Well I need to finish the back-end improvements, build an interface (API) to allow other blog directories to access the ranks (and add new blogs to the system), build a front end interface to allow people to add and manage their own blog listings, and build some sort of chart or report so that anyone can see the top blogs. So not much then!

Anyway, I just wanted to give a ‘state of play’ to anyone interested. I get quite a few emails regarding technoranki, but don’t have time to answer them all, so apologies if you think I’m ignoring you!
